12 Greatest Nu-Metal Bands Of All Time

10. Staind

After Staind supported Limp Bizkit at a concert in 1997, Fred Durst subsequently signed them to his record label, Flip Records, and co-produced their ‘Dysfunction’ album. Their follow up to ‘Dysfunction’ was the ‘Break The Cycle’ album, which went on to become one of the best-selling rock albums of 2001.

Staind became known for their honest lyrics that tackled dark subjects such as depression and addiction. Singles such as ‘Outside’ and ‘It’s Been A While’ found great success in the charts and although future albums never found the same level of success, Staind have maintained a strong following throughout the years as they have moved away from their Nu Metal roots to develop a softer, more traditional rock sound.

Mainly a touring band nowadays, Staind have not released an album since their self-titled release in 2011.

They may be better known for their post-grunge style, but Staind were one of the biggest bands that emerged from the Nu Metal scene during the early-2000s.
