12 Most Hated Rock Albums Of All Time
10. The Endless River - Pink Floyd
As the psychedelic era faded away, Pink Floyd became one of the most interesting acts of the prog rock genre. Throughout the 70's, the band made some of the most ambitious concept albums of the era while also expanding the horizons of what rock could sound like. Once the band became fractured though, cracks in the music started to appear alongside it.
Many Floyd fans found it hard to accept a version of the band without Roger Waters. While albums like The Division Bell were serviceable enough at the time, fans were fully checked out by the time the Endless River stumbled into existence in 2014. Being the writer of some of the band's greatest hits, Waters always had the spirit and heart of Pink Floyd in mind when writing. Take him out of the equation and this record becomes a lot of finesse without any sort of chutzpah.
Even though the album has some saving graces in the fantastic guitar parts from David Gilmour, stringing together a bunch of great licks doesn't automatically make your 53 minute album any more engaging. It may have seemed like a vast journey at first, but the Endless River had most Floyd fans swept under its current.
