Near the beginning of Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, you will hear a synthesised keyboard riff play, just before the lyrics begin. This exact same riff was lifted from this song and can be heard fading in over the words “Time goes by so slowly” in the beginning of Hung Up, before being remixed into a more modern dance track with extra sound elements.

Both these songs have achieved great success in their own rights, with Hung Up peaking at number one in 41 different countries, an accolade which achieved Guinness Book of World Records status. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! also achieved peak positions in numerous countries upon its release and is still considered a classic pop song.
