12 Times Eminem Spit Lyrical Fire

7. 'Till I Collapse (The Eminem Show)

In 2018, Spotify revealed the most-streamed workout tracks by its customers and ’Till I Collapse came in at number one. Dwayne Johnson has advocated the use of this song in his workouts, tweeting the lyrics of the hook with a video of him doing shrugs.

Featuring lyrics such as, ‘Music is magic, there’s a certain feelin’ you get / When you real and you spit, and people are feelin’ your sh*t’, this song shares Eminem’s thoughts and philosophy about his passion for his industry. Eminem shows humility and respect when he reveals his list of best rappers of all time, which includes Redman, André 3000, and Nas above him.

Released six months before his biopic, 8 Mile (as well as the soundtrack to that movie), ‘Till I Collapse has a similar sentiment to the movie-tied hit single, Lose Yourself. However, ‘Till I Collapse is far more meaningful because it is about the actual Marshal Mathers, and not the fictionalised version, B-Rabbit, he plays in the film.

Containing samples of the boom-boom-clap from Queen’s We Will Rock You and featuring the ever smooth vocals of Nate Dogg in the chorus, this song hits hard. Finally, containing the lines, ’The track is on some battlin’ raps, who wants some static? / ‘Cause I don’t really think that the fact that I’m Slim matters / A plaque and platinum status is whack if I’m not the baddest,’ this track is more than just another a track: it’s Eminem’s biggest anthem.
