13 Thoughts You've Had If You've Ever Started A Band
7. No, Wait, We're Terrible
Your first gig is three weeks away in a pub down the road. People go there all time, so it's not out of the way. It's got a big space upstairs which is perfect for a small gig.
Unfortunately, now that you've actually booked a space, reality has hit home hard, and you realise that Track 1 really isn't that good of a song. You thought you'd, in all your creative genius, stumbled onto a cool, new, original sound that probably defined a new genre.
In fact, it's not. It's not a new sound. It's not even a sound. It's just a mess. It's boring, derivative, and sounds like everyone else. But worse. It's a realisation that hits just about everyone, and it definitely lets the wind out of your sails.
It's a good job you learned all those covers then - you should be OK for half a set at any rate.
