14 Best Synthwave Albums You MUST Listen To

9. DEADLIFE - The Order Of Chaos (2018)

Another British entry on this list, DEADLIFE has been around since 2010. Whilst his first album, Bionic Chrysalis, was released a year prior, it's 2018's The Order of Chaos that really encapsulates the synthwave vibe.

Whilst the album cover may look like a rejected villain from Reboot, the album is a wonderful selection of darker synthwave, with a running narrative over most of the songs. Within the first ninety seconds of the opening track, the bass drop sets the scene for one of the heavier styles of the genre that makes it a foot-tapper of an album.

Tracks like Hard Bitch and Metro Mission channel contemporaries like 'Brut and Pertubator, but the overall album leans more towards the videogame style of soundtrack, heavily reminiscent of the glorious PSOne days. Seriously, give it a listen and picture yourself playing WipeOut to this.

Whilst his later albums have leaned towards the more relaxed and chilled side of synthwave, TOOC stands toe to toe with some of the heavier albums out there, worthy of fans of the aforementioned.
