1. Tame Impala - Lonerism -2012
Australian psychadelic project Tame Impala are perhaps one of the most exciting bands to emerge in the last 5 years. With their dreamy, Syd Barrett like neo-psychadelica, they've help bring in a new wave of bands. Not only that, but they produce some killer songs. 'Elephant', 'Mind Mischief' and 'Feels Like We Only Go Backwards' are some of the highlights off their 2nd LP, all with a pulsing bass line, highly reverberated guitar, and Kevin Parker's chilled vocals in a masterpiece of space pop. What makes 'Lonerism' so ideal though is how well it works as an album, and how Tame Impala have layered these varied sounds together to make these songs full and exciting.
