One of the biggest reasons that Disturbed’s Dan Donegan is considered to be such an underrated guitarist is because of the guitar solo in this song. Stricken is composed in such a way that its puts greater emphasis on the guitar work as opposed to vocals, and that instrumental skill is presented very well in this song.

Once again, Disturbed’s particular sound in this song is on full display: powerful guitar chords, Draiman’s staccato voice, the theme of suffering (allegedly brought about by the presence of someone who enters your life and harms you in such a way as to leave you debilitated), and a driving beat.

But again, this song is all about Donegan’s guitar solo during the bridge, which is an absolute highlight, especially when you consider that few songs on the album ‘Ten Thousand Fists’ are composed in a way that would allow such a lengthy guitar solo.
