15 Best Guitar Solos Of The 2000s

11. Black Label Society - Forever Down

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99VdDYqivz4 It was very hard picking just one song from Zakk's output throughout the noughties (It never sounds right, does it?), as whilst these days he's just having fun rattling through as many patterns as he can in the least amount of time possible, back on 2005's Mafia there was much more variation. Live Wylde tends to have far too many extended solos to be considered palatable, especially when you and all around have forked out to see more than a couple songs before the gig descends into him prattling about for upwards of twenty minutes on the same scales. I know it divides fans, as many just love to watch the guy play, but I must say I prefer when he's doing the likes of what is inside this song, than just going hell for leather constantly like on latest album Order of the Black. Forever Down's solo consists of a escalating tapping section that Van Halen would be proud of, slowly building up to the following signature wah-fuelled Wylde-vibrato that has made him such an insanely definable player. Top the whole thing off with a run up the neck that's layered with multiple guitars at once, and Forever Down was my personal favourite from this seminal Black Label album.
