1. The Wait Between Albums Makes Your Heart Die Just A Little
It took eight years for Modest Mouse to release the follow-up to 2007's We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. In that span, there were a couple of big personnel departures, a handful of ditched collaborations, and an obsession by Isaac Brock over what exactly the record mixes should sound like. This all led to a Chinese Democracy kind of vibe in media reports, and fans were left hoping that Brock wouldn't go the way of Axl Rose. Whether you loved or hated Strangers To Ourselves, you have to admit that it was a relief to finally have some new Modest Mouse music going into your earholes. Brock has since gone on record saying that we should expect its companion album in 2016. Hopefully that's true, because no fan wants to wait another 8 years.
