15 Things Only Stone Sour Fans Will Understand

4. Cover Versions

The band loves their cover versions. One of the earliest examples is their truly awe-inspiring acoustic version of Chris Isaak's Wicked Game. Perhaps this is a trait they picked up from their much-publicised love of Faith No More. Whatever the reason, they often do better versions of a song than the originals! They've done a ton of covers, and fans always look out for new ones showing up in live set-lists. The band knows this, and has decided to release a trilogy of covers EPs that document their own musical tastes and inspirations. According to Josh:
"The idea was not to shy away from a song because it was popular or pick a band that most people might not have heard, but to pick ones that truly meant something to one of us at some point in our life."
The first release, Meanwhile In Burbank..., features outstanding covers of Metallica, Alice In Chains, KISS, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. Future covers of Mötley Crüe, Rage Against The Machine, Bad Brains and Violent Femmes are scheduled. It's certainly something worth getting excited about!
