It's still incredible to think that Bruce donated Because The Night to Patti Smith, considering how strong that track is. Bruce did it again in 1981 when he gave Protection, recorded during the Born in the USA sessions, to Queen of Disco Donna Summer. Bruce does appear on Summer's version, supplying a guitar solo and backing vocals. Bruce rehearsed the song for the Tunnel of Love Express Tour in 1998 and may have played it but setlist reports from that era are incomplete. It's one he should really bust out in the future, if he is to tour again.
