20 Best Albums Of 2015 (So Far)
2. Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRK7PVJFbS8If you really want to get the most To Pimp a Butterfly, the latest album from undisputed hip hop king Kendrick Lamar, then don't dip in and out while doing other stuff. Sit down and listen to all 78 minutes and 51 seconds and really engulf yourself in it because it's dense and you won't get everything the first time you listen to it.
That's not to say that's a bad thing. In fact, it's good that Lamar challengers his audience and demands repeat listening for all of his records, especially this one. He doesn't dumb down his music and because of that fans are given a sprawling look at African American culture through his eyes.
Songs like the fantastic The Blacker The Berry, Wesley's Theory and King Kunta really show that this one of the most timeless hip hop albums to be released in years and arguably the best album of 2015.
