20 Exquisitely-Produced Songs That MUST Be Played Loud As Hell

12. Fall Out Boy €“ "The Phoenix"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hDZbroaQDc A decade ago, Fall Out Boy were poster boys of the pop punk and emo movements. Last year, after six years away, they dropped a comeback album that was audaciously called "Save Rock and Roll." They also brought in superstar pop producer Butch Walker to man the boards, and Butch turned them from a jokey pop punk group into a band that actually might have been worth the album title. Duets with Elton John and Courtney Love helped the record along, but arguably the best example of the band's reinvention was "The Phoenix," the album's ferocious opening track. Frontman Patrick Stump spits venom like his life depends on it, but Walker ties the whole thing together, turning the song into a crashing call to arms that can only be heard at high decibel levels.
