20 Greatest Punk Albums Ever Made

4. Ramones - Ramones

As the Ramones are arguably the most pinnacle and important punk band ever, it makes sense to have them feature so high up the ranks on this list. Recorded and released in 1976, 'Ramones' is the personification of punk rock's rip-roaring style in every sense.

With a budget of just $6,000, the band recorded the album in its entirety in less than a week, with the finished product on record store shelves under two months later. 'Ramones' features some of the band's most well known and easily recognisable tunes like 'Blitzkrieg Bop', 'I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend' and 'Judy is a Punk' (which is sometimes credited as the source of 'punk' rock earning its name).

Other songs include 'Let's Dance, '53rd & 3rd' and several other iconic punk numbers. The legacy of this album is almost unmatched, yet it still isn't the highest Ramones album on this list...
