20 Greatest Punk Albums Ever Made
3. Sex Pistols - Never Mind The B*llocks
If you ask someone to name a punk record, the chances are 'Never Mind the B*llocks' by Sex Pistols will be the first title that comes to mind. This 1977 record was the unrivalled force that pushed punk out from the bubbling underground scene and into the mainstream eye.
The controversy surrounding Sex Pistols made them household names in the UK, and songs like 'God Save the Queen' and 'Anarchy in the UK' added fuel to the bellowing flame of a young punk rock movement. Excluding the hits, this album also included a catalogue of fiery punk tracks such as 'Holiday in the Sun', 'Pretty Vacant' and 'Liar', to name but a few.
However, the flame that burns twice as bright burns for half as long. 'Never MInd the B*llocks' evidently became Sex Pistols only official studio album, as Johnny Rotten quit the band a few months later and Sid Vicious died in 1979.
