https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wFSjgDRCF4 Bob Dylan could probably fill an entire list such as this on his own. Twice over. Not only has the folk singer got one of the world's largest discographies, he is renowned as the spokesman of a generation, a political musician and storyteller who will probably never be eclipsed. The Hurricane is a nine-minute epic written about Rubin 'Hurricane' Carter, a promising boxer who spent 19 years in prison for a crime Dylan felt he did not commit. Carter was sentenced to life for the apparent murder of three white people at a bar in Paterson, New Jersey. Police were looking for two black suspects, spotted Carter and his friend nearby, and the rest is history. Eight years into his sentence, however, Carter reached out to Dylan, sending him a copy of his autobiography. Convinced of his innocence, Dylan penned The Hurricane. Somehow, he manages to squeeze the entire story into nine masterful minutes, something many authors would struggle to do inside 200 pages.
