20 Most Underrated Nu-Metal Anthems

13. Nonpoint – The Truth

Released in 2004, Recoil marked nu-metal outfit Nonpoint’s third LP outing, and they had improved tenfold since their shaky beginnings. The refinement can especially be heard on album single ‘The Truth.’

As soon as the drums kick in on this belter, you know you’re in for one hell of a ride. Vocalist Elias Soriano steals the show with a throat-tearing performance, taking aim at their record label at the time with cries of “If we only knew the truth about it, maybe we could work our way around it” – scathingly addressing the problems with the music industry in the process. Both musically and lyrically, Nonpoint deserve to be lauded to a greater extent.

They might not hold the same clout that a group like Slipknot or Korn does, but don’t discount this hard-working band as being a cheap knock-off. With ‘The Truth,’ Nonpoint proved that they were much more than just another nu-metal act.
