20 Punk Rock Albums You Must Hear Before You Die

15. Love Bites - Buzzcocks

Along with Generation X and the Sex Pistols, the Buzzcocks were one of the groups that spearheaded England's punk rock moment in the late '70s. Their first studio album, Another Music in a Different Kitchen, was pretty good in its own right, but their true masterpiece came in the form of their second studio release, Love Bites.

The sound is excellent, playing into both the band's punk and pop-esque elements, while also throwing out the rules and restrictions that go along with the latter in order to create their own, unique identity through their music, not to mention lead vocalist Pete Shelley's fantastic songwriting.

In fact, Love Bites has even been described by BBC Music as "an essential purchase for anyone remotely interested in punk's history." And it is, indeed.
