20 Things You Didn't Know About Aerosmith
12. They Have A Habit Of Writing Songs For Crap Films
Over the course of an artist's career, it's not unusual for them to record bespoke songs for a film soundtrack; Paramore, David Bowie and the Goo Goo Dolls to name just a few. Aerosmith is no different; the range of movies they've composed for, however, is pretty diverse and consistently mediocre.
In 1993, they inoffensively enough made two live versions of their songs for Wayne's World 2; they even appeared as themselves in the film. As previously mentioned, 1998's "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" was the highlight of the otherwise lamentable Armageddon, although this was notably written solely by Dianne Warren.
In 2000, they wrote "Angel's Eye" for Charlie's Angels. The film itself was pretty poor, at least compared to the original show, although admittedly not as diabolical as the tie-in video game. It's safe to say there's probably a reason not many people remember this song.
Most bizarrely of all, their previously unreleased "Lizard Love" appeared on the soundtrack of Rugrats Go Wild, a feature-length spin-off of the cartoon Rugrats and The Wild Thornberrys. Lyrics included "I hid behind the newspaper/Turned to page six/She was in her birthday suit/Behind a crucifix." Were they under the impression this was an explicit parody film?
