2019’s 10 Weirdest Music Collaborations

6. Billie Eilish And Steve Carell - My Strange Addiction

Okay so maybe this one is cheating a little, but teen sensation Billie Eilish has proved that these days you can sample just about anything in a hit song. Apparently the creators of The Office didn’t even know that Eilish had sampled The Scarn from the hit US sitcom.

Michael Scott himself (Steve Carell), and his fellow Dunder Mifflin employees approved the dialogue for the song. Where Scott namechecks Eilish at the beginning with, “No, Billie, I haven’t done that dance since my wife died”. My strange addiction, quite like The Office, has become a fan favourite as a result. The Office quotes are part of the song throughout, so feel essential to the track coming inbetween verses than just a gimmick.

The 17-year-old is said to be a huge fan of the show. Whatever you think of Billie, we hope this kickstarts a trend of Gen Z pop stars sampling cult sitcoms from the 2000s.
