2019’s 10 Weirdest Music Collaborations

5. Vampire Weekend, Steve Lacy, And Jerry Seinfeld - Sunflower

Another sitcom related song. Vampire Weekend’s long-awaited fourth album, Father of the Bride, has taken more of an ensemble approach when it comes to the performers on the album. Danielle Haim duets on three tracks, and contributes backing vocals to more. Ex-member Rostam Batmanglij even returned on the first single, Harmony Hall.

Actor Jude Law sings lead vocals on a bonus track, and young prodigy Steve Lacy also contributes to three tracks including the single Sunflower. What is perhaps most perplexing is that the video for Sunflower is directed by Jonah Hill, and stars comedy-legend Jerry Seinfeld sat eyeballing the camera in a New York deli.

While at first the cameo may seem random, frontman Ezra Koenig revealed that their social media manager is in fact an internet joker behind a Seinfeld meme account @Seinfeld2000. It all makes sense now.
