18. Jello Biafra & The Guantanamo School Of Medicine - White People And The Damage Done
If you scoured every corner of punk rock history, you'd still be hard pressed to find a more enigmatic, charismatic or outspoken figure than Jello Biafra. Predominantly known for his time as the vocalist in the Dead Kennedys, Biafra's musical exploits have taken him to a number of groups such as Lard, DOA, The Witch Trials and his self-titled project, Jello Bifara & the Guantanamo School of Medicine.
The Guantanamo School of Medicine was founded by Biafra in 2008 and released their debut album, 'The Audacity of Hype', the following year. The group's first album was well received but their second record, 'White People and the Damage Done' (2013) was the real magnum opus. Featuring a number of great punk tunes such as 'John Dillinger', 'Werewolves of Wolf Street' and the 14-minute extravaganza, 'Shock-U-Py', this record is a must hear for any traditional hardcore punk fans.
Since 'White People and the Damage Done', the Guantanamo School of Medicine have released just one other full length studio album, which was 2020's 'Tea Party Revenge Porn'.
