25 Best Albums Of The Past Decade

5. Lamb of God - Ashes of the Wake

Lamb_of_God_-_Ashes_of_the_WakeNotable Tracks: Hourglass, Blood of the Scribe, Omerta, Break You You might want to invest in a neck brace and well-crafted head gear for this one. If you have blood running through your veins, I can assure you it will boil while listening to this album. Randy Blythe, lead singer of the band, may have one of the best metal voices in the past decade or two. Not only can you understand nearly every incredible lyric, but you can't help but get so pumped up (Hans and Franz would be jealous) during every accompanying breakdown. What's even better is drummer Chris Adler flawless double-bass techniques. Ashes of the Wake is the kind of album you can blast through your car or home stereo and never tire of its unwavering brutality. If you're a metal enthusiast and you're not unwarrantedly sanctimonious about the many different sub-genres of heavy metal, then I urge you to put this record on and use all of your strength to not bob your head even slightly to this Groove Metal masterpiece.

Hello there! I'm a graduate of FGCU (A.K.A. Dunk City!) I'm currently working on an M.A. in English Literature at Hofstra University. I'd like to eventually pursue either a M.S. in Business Administration or a Ph.D in Old English and Medieval Literature. I do thoroughly enjoy studying Old English for some mysterious reason. In my spare time, I try to keep up with well over a dozen television shows simultaneously, I frequent the local theaters, and I am an avid sports or FPS video gamer. Some of my favorite TV shows include: Dexter, The Office, X-Files, Homeland, and The Sopranos. Some of my favorite films include: The Usual Suspects, Donnie Darko, American Beauty, Fight Club, and Goodfellas.
