25 Best Metal Albums Of The Decade

15. Converge - All We Love We Leave Behind (2012)

"All of our albums are emotional but I feel this is our most potent to date," said Converge frontman Jacob Bannon prior to All We Love We Leave Behind's release. He isn't wrong. The album was, at the time, a richer, more varied sonic experience than the band had ever delivered before, though All We Love rarely strays from the chaos that made them metallic hardcore royalty in the first place.

Stomping grooves permeate tracks like "Sadness Comes Home," and on "Coral Blue," Converge fully embrace timbres they've only hinted at before. That's evolution.
