I'm "one of those" people who believes that 'Kid A' is the greatest thing since any bread, including the sliced kind. And 'Ego' is a perfect example of why Thom Yorke is head and shoulders more of a musician than most rock frontmen. Because for all the bluster and braggadocio of the genre, nothing means anything without a good melody. That's a simple fact that splits Oasis from Beady Eye, and no one can wrap his lips around a tune like Thom. 'Ego' is wonderfully wispy, Thom twirling himself around Tet's scattering drums and Burial's ethereal ambience. And it's just as good as 'Creep', rock song or not.
