9. Various - Weightless Volume 1
Compiled by the aforementioned Mumdance and Logos, Weightless Volume 1 is a collection of tracks that further foreground the "weightless" abstract soundscapes seen prominently on Logos' Cold Mission. The curators contribute a track (also featuring Rabit), while Inkke, Strict Face, Dark0 and Murlo are all also featured. This is about as experimental as grime gets, making even the sounds of Wiley and Visionist seem "normal" in comparison, but the EP remains remarkably listenable. It also provides a useful insight into the ways in which grime and most conceptual ambient electronic music are increasingly being melded into one by adventurous artists. One for the bold - you will be rewarded.
