4 Reasons Why The XX Shouldn't Be £40 A Ticket Band
First off I have to say that I am a massive fan of The XX. Ever since I heard the first track off their first album I was in love with them. From that first Intro to their last song Stars the whole album is a melodic dream. It has been a long time since I last I have heard an album where you can just lie down, close your eyes and listen to the whole thing without getting bored. It's like a drug. Romy Madley-Croft and Oliver Sim's vocal are more hypnotising than Paul McKenna in his prime. It's simply a beast. Their second album Coexist is more of the same. It isn't in the same class as the first album, but that's mainly to do with the first album existing first. If they'd brought out Coexist as their debut album, I'd be inclined to think I'd rave about it the same as I do XX. Sure, it doesn't have any immediate classics like VCR or Islands but it's still a great album. So what is my beef you might be thinking? Well, I have never saw The XX live before, and recently on NME it was announced they had released tickets for their tour, so sure enough I went to buy tickets. These tickets were £40.00. This is my beef. No matter how much I love The XX I am not going to be held ransom by them. It's not a matter of the money; the £40.00 wouldn't be missed.
