5 Albums To Help You Cry Over Your Hipster Ex-Girlfriend

1. Wavves - Afraid of Heights

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIL_967-Ows When: Future Why: I don't know Ben, but come on, again? Arrested Development Continuation: The return was fantastic This break-up hasn't happened yet, but seeing as I'm not exactly batting .1000 so far (in fact, I'm like the Ike Davis of dating at this point), I'm going to go ahead and guess that I will do something stupid in the future (probably soon after the publication of this post) that will cause me to cling to a broken souls album. So, seeing as this is my favorite release of 2013 so far, and its choc-full-o sad songs about loneliness and the likes, it would be appropriate to cry into this. So Wavves took the 'Take on the World" concept and blew it up into "Afraid of Heights", a wonderful album about not so wonderful things. On this album, former brat turned man Nathan Williams sings about depression, anxiety, paranoia, and bitterness. Nathan Williams is every bit as scared about his future as any hopeless romantic should be. Wavves provides the perfect post-rejection temper tantrum soundtrack ("Forget her man, I just need to surf"). Packed with punk riffs and solid production, this album will make you think "Yeah, I will always be on my own." Come on Ben, no you won't! You're funny, and certainly appeal to a niche audience with your alternative styling and whimsical musings...right?
