9 Albums That Are Begging To Be Made Into A Movie

7. Frank Zappa €“ Joe's Garage

The merits of adapting Frank Zappa's Joe's Garage become immediately apparent when you consider the fact that the project was reissued with the subtitle Acts I, II & III. Basically, you've got your beginning, middle and end already separated out... now someone just has to write the script. Joe's Garage was released in 1979. Initially the project consisted of two studio albums, then it was later released as a triple album box set (hence the three acts). The record follows Joe, a rather average man who forms a garage rock band, attempts to find love and subscribes to organised religion. Joe is later imprisoned, and upon release he discovers that society is criminalized music, driving him completely insane. The reason the album would make such a great film is down to its satirization of society, government criticism and exploration of free will, individualism and censorship. Basically, a film version of Joe's Garage would play out something like George Orwell's 1984 or James McTeigue's V For Vendetta... and who doesn't want to see more stories like that represented on the big screen?
