9 Albums That Are Begging To Be Made Into A Movie

5. Neutral Milk Hotel €“ In The Aeroplane Over The Sea

Dropping the very strange (yet nevertheless totally incredible) 1998 album In The Aeroplane Over The Sea into the hands of a visual director like David Lynch or Tim Burton would be a totally fascinating experiment. Recorded as the second and final studio album by American indie rockers Neutral Milk Hotel, over time the record has become incredibly iconic amongst music fans. In The Aeroplane Over The Sea is known for it's strange and surreal lyrics, and this where the likes of Lynch or Burton could really shine. Lines like €œwhat a beautiful face I have found in this place that is circling all round the sun€ and €œone day we will die and our ashes will fly from the aeroplane over the sea€ present two striking images, the visual depiction of which could be very moving. Even stranger lyrics such as €œthe only girl I've ever loved was born with roses in her eyes, but then they buried her alive one evening in 1945€ and €œnow she's a little boy in Spain, playing pianos filled with flames€ are practically demanding to be part of a bizarre dream sequence or drug-induced reverie.
