Deftones are an alt metal band originating from Sacramento, California. Founding in 1988, the band has released seven studio albums since its formation in 1988 and sold a huge number of records, even winning a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.

While writing their sixth studio album Eros, bassist Chi Cheng was in a car accident that essentially rendered him comatose.
