9 Great Closing Tracks On Albums

4. When The Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin IV [Led Zeppelin]

Led Zeppelin have been known as being one of the greatest rock bands of all time and for good reason. Their interplay and interpolation of blues material is second to none in the rock scene.

But while they have a blues backbone, their thunderous sound is something that is almost indescribable. "When the Levee Breaks" shows drummer John Bonham at the peak of his abilities, with a beat so good that it has been sampled prominently on far too many hip hop tracks to count.

The song details a flood, but with its dark chords and crying harmonica and slide guitar, you'd think that you were hearing about the apocalypse coming. It gets even more dark when you hear Robert Plant sing that he's "Going Doooown."At this point, the apocalypse seems to be over and now you're plunging into the depths of hell. And loving every minute of it, I might add.
