9 Great Closing Tracks On Albums

2. Famous Last Words -The Black Parade [My Chemical Romance]

My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade is probably one of the greatest concept albums to come out of the 2000s. The album follows the tragic end of the Patient, a man who is stricken with cancer and given only a few weeks to live.

Throughout the album he tries to make peace with his own mortality and seems eternally frustrated that he will, in his mind, be erased from existence as he knows it. But "Famous Last Words" comes on to finish the album off, and you start to think that maybe its not too late for the Patient.

While the album has centered around death, this song has the empowering chorus of "I am not afraid to keep on living...to walk this world alone." You're not sure if this is being said by the Patient himself or maybe one of his close family members, but it's the kind of rallying cry that makes you pump your fist in the air even if you're in the middle of a crowded elevator going to your office.

But that's the essence of the Black Parade in a nutshell. It's an album centered around death, and yet it makes you feel so alive every time you listen to it.
