AC/DC - EVERY Album Ranked Worst To Best
14. Stiff Upper Lip (2000)
Stiff Upper Lip was the bands thirteenth international studio album and was a commercial success for the band, reaching the top ten of multiple album charts around the world. The album’s title track also scored a third number one for the band in the US Mainstream Rock chart.
Despite the commercial success of the album, none of the tracks really stand out compared to AC/DC’s back catalogue.
As well as the title track, which featured as the album’s first single, the album also produced two other singles: Safe in New York City and Satellite Blues. Similarly to tracks on 1995’s Ballbreaker, these tracks are unfortunately often unremarkable and therefore overshadowed by previous AC/DC hits.
The song Stiff Upper Lip is certainly the albums best track, but another notable track from the album is Can’t Stop Rock ‘n’ Roll. While only an album track, this song stands out compared to the singles from the album. However, the bands previous albums often have solid tracks throughout, making this a poorer showing from the rock legends.
This is probably best seen in AC/DC’s own ‘Stiff Upper Lip Tour’, captured in the live video Stiff Upper Lip Live. This live performance, celebrating the Stiff Upper Lip album, only features a single track from the album.
