Alter Bridge: 10 Hidden Song Details You Never Noticed
6. Wouldn’t You Rather Came From Myles’ Anger After Hearing Criticism From His Producer
Every single one of Alter Bridge's albums, with the exception of their debut, has been produced by Michael 'Elvis' Baskette, the secret fifth member of the band. Since Blackbird, Elvis has been a huge part of crafting the albums in a way to make them as good as they could possibly be, and Walk the Sky was no different.
After Myles sent his producer a few songs, thinking they would be the ones to finally check the last couple of boxes for Elvis, he received a call telling him the complete opposite. The album was still missing that certain something, and the singer was told to essentially go back to the drawing board.
After hanging up, Kennedy picked up his guitar to blow off some steam and vent his frustration and anger, and from that came the opening riff for the album's lead single, Wouldn't You Rather.
The band have said before that the reason they keep going back and working with Elvis is because he pushes them, looks at the album in the same way a fan would, and isn't afraid to tell them what needs changing. There is no better example of that partnership working than Wouldn't You Rather.
