Alter Bridge: 11 Things You Probably Didn't Know

How well do you know know one of the best rock bands of the new era?

If there's one band anyone with a penchant for guitar-based music needs to keep their eye on it's Alter Bridge. With a weekend-dominating set at Download (underneath Aerosmith no less) now in the rear-view mirror, they've been touring new album Fortress relentlessly - or as relentlessly as you can when your frontman also helps front Slash & The Conspirators. Such is the life that singer Myles Kennedy, guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Philips lead in 2014, although it seems they couldn't be happier. With the former currently only seeing his hometown for a few weeks a year, Tremonti recording a followup to his bone-powderingly heavy solo album, Marshall keeping busy teaching bass on tour and Flip (hopefully) working on a second Projected album, the band rarely seem to see any downtime. Over the years they've amassed one hell of a fanbase too, becoming one of those bands that should two of them meet they'll be exploding into reels of favourite vocal 'moments', lyrics, breakdowns and solos within minutes. Regardless of if you're new to the band and need to check out some of their essential material or whether you've been with them since the days when Buried Alive had different lyrics, there's a bevy of little-known fun facts that you can take with you.
