The smash hit from its accompanying soundtrack not only was a number one hit in most markets (reaching number four on the Billboard top 100) but won both an Oscar and Golden Globe for best original song. Considering its impact on modern day pop music and reality television it comes to a surprise to most people that Adagio have given it a heavy metal overhaul. This self-described progressive metal band from France has been a staple of the European scene for quite some time now. Formed in 2000 and with four studio albums to their credit, they have achieved a status throughout Europe not unlike the infamous song they chose to cover. With a collaboration French music director Jean-Claude Casadesus from the Lille National Orchestra and a new album on the cards, they will continue to achieve a significant level of fame in the future.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
