I think at the time of the feud with Christina Aguilera, it was very easy to agitate Eminem, particularly if you came from a pop background. Eminem was wrongly getting bracketed in with the likes of N*Sync and Britney Spears due to the commercial success of 'My Name Is' and as an inspiring rapper seeking respect for your rhymes, that would definitely start to grate on you. Aguilera chose the song 'My Name Is' as she compiled a list of favourite songs for MTV to play, a show that Eminem happened to be watching. She would go on to say that he was cute but married; stating that she heard a rumour that he killed his wife on one of his records. Eminem felt as though she was putting him on blast and would rather she didn't comment on his personal life at all.
