Every David Bowie Album Ranked Worst To Best (By Guitar Power)

12. Live At Santa Monica (2008)

Another of Bowie’s albums that had previously been a highly sought-after bootleg. Similar to the Ziggy soundtrack album, recorded live in 1972, it was another snapshot of the period in time when the Spiders From Mars captured the essence of rock’n’roll, and Bowie wasn’t distracted by dabbling in the new techno craze du jour.

The material is faultless of course, as is the performance and sound quality. There are a few great bootlegs from the Ziggy era in cyberspace that could also benefit from the official release status, much like the way Dylan has appropriated unofficial releases into his own official catalogue with a polish and upgrade in sound.
