Every Green Day Album Opening Song Ranked From Worst To Best

In 1987, a bunch of lads got together in California's East Bay to form a rock band. They were Billie Joe Armstrong, Michael Pritchard, and John Kiffmeyer. Pritchard would later adopt the last name "Dirnt" and Kiffmeyer would eventually be replaced by Franke Edwin Wright III, better known as Tré Cool.

This was, of course, Green Day.

Named for their love of marijuana, Green Day have risen from underground punk heroes to alternative icons to Rock and Roll Hall of Famers over their long and distinguished career, playing hundreds of shows all around the world and winning over millions of fans with their no-nonsense political stance and love for old school punk stylings.

There have been 13 official Green Day studio albums (not including EPs, bootlegs, compilations, etc.) and each one has an opening song. Some of them rank amongst the best the band have ever done, whilst others, well, let's just say not many people are in any rush to hear them ever again.

So, which of these songs will come in at numero ¡Uno!? And which ones are little more than a steaming pile of Dookie?

Between September and December of 2012, Green Day put out three separate studio albums all for the sake of a stupid joke.

The second of those releases was ¡Dos!, which should have started with a song called F*** Time, were it not for a short, ultimately pointless prelude called See You Tonight.

66 seconds mostly spent repeating the song's title is hardly the best way to kick things off, especially as the music is just the same few chords repeated on an acoustic guitar.

There are hints at something interesting in the song's bridge, but there just isn't enough time for this to progress into anything substantial. Ultimately, there really isn't that much to say about this track, which is why it finds itself rooted to the bottom of the list.

Although, at least it prevented a song with a swear word in the title from being an actual entry, which would have been a bit awkward.
