7. Reading Festival 2010 Sit Down Protest

Despite having been warned earlier in the week about breaking curfew, something the band is well-known for, the band took the stage an hour behind schedule. Gigwise, who reported from the event, later wrote that after dealing with a difficult crowd early in the night, at "the end of their set that the band finally began to win over the crowd." That's when the problems started. Curfew time was fast approaching, and the promoter pulled the plug - literally. The shut down power to the venue's sound system, insisting the band leave without playing it's traditional final song, Paradise City. Instead, the band refused to leave the stage, sitting down, and eventually playing a sing-along version of the song with the crowd.
