Perry was married to comedian Russel Brand at the time of the tour and the film shows her traveling back and forth between her husband and her career commitments. Even though her marriage to Brand did not work out, Perry still stands by her belief that you should not have to choose between doing what you love and being with someone you love. This is one of the many important messages that she stresses during the film. Perry states during an intimate interview that when you find your true life partner they will be completely accepting and supportive of your dreams, an important lesson that can benefit both her young and old fans.
