Katy Perry: Prism - All Tracks Reviewed & Analysed

5. Unconditionally

Unconditionally is a romantic ballad which can only be assumed to be about the new man in Katy's life, John Mayer. And Katy has even said herself that this track is her favourite from the album. The track is emotionally powerful yet uplifting and quite different from many of the other songs in the album in that it focuses on the new chapter of her life rather the breakdown of her marriage. As the second single from Prism, it is safe to say that it, like Roar, will be a huge chart hit. Rating: 4/5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOOmHedrVjM

6. Dark Horse feat Juicy J

The first promotional single from the album, Dark Horse is a catchy mix of pop from Katy with a hip-hop verse from rapper, Juicy J who has worked with numerous artists such as Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa and Justin Bieber. So far the track has received very positive reviews from critics and has been darker than most of the songs in her discography and it is highly likely that it will reach the top of the charts. Rating: 4/5

7. This Is How We Do

This super poppy track is reminiscent of Katy's previous Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F) in that it seems to be aimed at a younger demographic and focuses on partying. However, in comparison to many of the other songs on the album, it does not have the same creativity, the lyrics are dull and it mimics many of the forgotten party songs which fail to reach the top spots in the charts. Rating: 3/5
