Kurt Cobain - Remembering Nirvana's 5 Best Ever Songs

1. You Know You're Right

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qv96yJYhk3M "You Know You're Right" was one of the last songs recorded in the studio before Kurt's death, and on a poignant note, it makes number one on our list of five best ever songs - not that we're letting sentimentality get in our way here, it really was a brilliant song. Written in 1993, "You Know You're Right" wouldn't be released until September 2002, almost ten years after Cobain's death. Thanks to a legal battle between the surviving members of Nirvana and Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, it wouldn't see the light of day until the release of the compilation album, titled simply "Nirvana" that year. The song is a typically moody and tortured rendition, featuring such lyrics as "I will never follow you / I will never bother you / Never say a word again / I will crawl away for good" and was yet another chilling performance, especially given that it would be the last song recorded by the band. "You Know You're Right" was the band's first to top Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, a fitting end to one of our generation's greatest bands. What's your favourite Nirvana song?
