LGBTQ+ Band Members For Pride Month

Gaahl is a Norwegian openly gay black metal musician who has performed with many bands and been part of multiple musical projects over the years. Currently, he's the frontman of Gaahls Wyrd.

A lot of people would assume that being gay in a metal band would be really hard, but according to Gaahl there's no need to worry as he has spoken multiple times about the positive response he's had from the metal community. Speaking on the the metal community Gaahl said it "is one of the most open communities" and "I don't know anyone in the Norwegian black metal scene that is against gays."

When asked if fans had come up to him and come out to him as a result of him coming out he said "quite a lot actually". When speaking about this he said that people should just be themselves and if he can help people do that then thats good, however he doesn't like the fact that there has to be someone pushing it forward.

Sharing his frustration he said "it's more frustrating for me to see that actually people have to have someone tell them that it's okay" because as Gaahl said "why would anyone care?"
