Limp Bizkit: The Rise & Fall In 10 Songs

6. My Way

RISE

At the start of the millennium, WWF was a pop-cultural juggernaut. Several wrestlers including The Rock and Steve Austin had transcended the squared circle and were celebrities in their own right. Professional wrestling was at its peak in the United States and Europe, and Limp Bizkit was selected to provide the track for the most popular WrestleMania in history.

My Way didn’t climb to the heights of Rollin’ and was released at the start of the band’s fall from grace. However, it is significant in that it indicates that their descent wasn’t as sudden as many people believe.

The WWF-produced My Way video package for Rock versus Austin remains one of the most-loved legendary productions for both entities and is somewhat of a swan song for Limp Bizkit.

Its chorus consisting of the lyrics, ‘I’ma do things my way, it’s my way, my way of the highway,’ encapsulates Limp Bizkit’s approach to their place within the media. They made it to the top on their own terms, and they will fall from the top the same way
