Marvel Cinematic Universe: Soundtrack Scores Ranked From Worst To Best

8. Avengers: Infinity War

This is a soundtrack of two halves. Silvestri returns to the MCU for the first time since 2012's The Avengers/Avenger's Assemble and in the meantime there have been many strong scores, though a frustrating lack of continuity.

The first half of the soundtrack has some strong motifs appearing here and there. The violin that plays before Loki's demise stands out, along with the first statement of the Avenger's theme as Hulk hurtles toward Earth. Thanos's theme, while low key, is subtle and menacing, but fades into the background after doing its job.

Things start to change a little when Help Arrives, before a statement of the Wakanda theme from Black Panther. However, the second half of the soundtrack, kicking off from Even For You, is another level altogether.

This is Silvestri at his best, fueling the emotions of every broken heart as Gamora falls. The majesty of Forge picks us back up again and I Feel You breaks us down again - pick one, Alan!

While certainly a stronger score than both the Avengers and The First Avenger, Silvestri's magic is saved for later half of this soundtrack and the entirety of Endgame. The series truly suffers from the oft-mentioned lack of continuity. Perhaps a greater control on the composers moving in and out of the various films could have fixed this - Thor and Iron Man have several themes throughout the series, none of which are quoted here - but the soundtrack stands strong on its own.
