Megadeth: Every Album Ranked From Worst To Best

4. Countdown To Extinction

Even though 1992's Countdown To Extinction sees something of a simplification of the band's sound, the combination of Dave Mustaine, Marty Friedman, David Ellefson and Nick Menza is enough to make the song-writing on this record some of the best in the band's history. Tracks like Symphony Of Destruction, Skin O' My Teeth, Foreclosure Of A Dream and Sweating Bullets remain, over two decades later, some of the greatest songs of the band has ever released, the combination of technicality, clean production and interesting lyrics making them simultaneously accessible yet substantial and full of depth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5jvUXij7nU When it comes to insane riffs and jaw-dropping instrumental prowess Countdown To Extinction is the Megadeth album that demands immediate listening.
