7. United Abominations
2007's United Abominations can largely be seen as ushering in modern Megadeth. Despite the slight hiccup that was 2013's Super Collider, most of the band's material post-United Abominations has been seen as something of a return to form for Megadeth, following a string of albums that dabbled in a more commercial, hard rock sound. In this way United Abominations is one of the strongest entries in the modern Megadeth discography. There's an urgency to the record that likely stems from the time they spent away from their thrash roots. Praise must also go to guitarist Glen Drover, who despite only contributing to a single Megadeth album, leaves a distinct, impressive mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQ4dnJ8st2s Featuring a range of awesome songs and an interesting (albeit ultimately lesser) re-recording of A Tout Le Monde featuring Cristina Scabbia, United Abominations was the record that gave hope to fans that the band could truly return to form; a hope that was subsequently built upon.
